If you are interested in hosting a Mawlid please email us at [email protected]. Space and location issues must be approved before hosting can be guaranteed.

Insha’Allah, there is great Baraka in hosting a Mawlid. To have a spiritual gathering in one’s home invites the Angels and repels evil spirits. Also, to be a cause in the spread of love and honor for the Prophet ﷺ, will only increase your love and rank with the Beloved ﷺ (Insha’Allah), may Peace and Blessings be upon him.

We understand that many people might want to host a Mawlid but are unable to do so because of space limitations in their home. Sponsoring a Mawlid is the answer to this problem and will provide you with the opportunity to attain similar blessings as hosting a Mawlid would.  You do not need to sponsor the full Mawlid, just whatever you are able. Money spent for sponsoring a mawlid is tax-deductible.

Not getting to live during the Prophet’s ﷺ time means that we never had the opportunity to directly spend money for the sake of the Beloved ﷺ. We hope that by sponsoring a Mawlid and spreading knowledge, honor, and love for him ﷺ, that this will be accepted as spending for the sake of our dear Prophet ﷺ.

Abu Kabshah `Amr bin Sa`d (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The wealth of a man will not diminish by Sadaqah (charity).”

How much should I donate?

We will gain much blessing from your good intentions so any amount is encouraged. Monthly donations are most helpful because they allow us to put on the monthly gatherings on a consistent basis. 
Why should I donate?

The Chicago Mawlid Committee is an organization dedicated to providing a platform for praising the Blessed Messenger ﷺ, and an invitation to experience religious and cultural expression of love for the Prophet ﷺ in the city of Chicago.

A traditional way Muslims have done this in the past is by gathering together and reciting praise, poetry, and songs that demonstrate their love for the Prophet ﷺ. Our gatherings pierce the heart, water the seed of love, and capture some of the spiritual aspects of this religion that is sometimes lost in the speed of this modern-day world.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, the CMC is a 501c3 nonprofit organization,  all donations are tax-deductible.
